JACK THISTLEDOWN RACINO CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF RACING TRADITIONS AND COMMUNITY INVESTMENT

JACK Thistledown’s historic transformation, driven by JACK Entertainment’s $300+ million investment in the Racino.
July 2, 2025 (CLEVELAND)— JACK Thistledown Racino is proud to announce a month-long celebration in honor of Thistledown Racetrack’s 100th anniversary, culminating on its official centennial date: July 20, 2025.

As one of the oldest continuously operating racetracks in the United States, Thistledown has been a fixture in Ohio’s thoroughbred racing tradition since 1925. It has become a cornerstone of Ohio’s horse racing heritage and a beloved part of the North Randall and Warrensville Heights communities.

Since acquiring the property, JACK Entertainment has transformed the historic racetrack into a 21st–century entertainment destination. With a commitment to enhancing the guest experience and surrounding communities, JACK has invested over $300 million in Thistledown over the past 13 years. These investments have brought a 57,000-square-foot gaming floor to life, expanded dining and entertainment options, and established the properties as vibrant economic anchors set to support Northeast Ohio for generations to come.

“For 100 years, Thistledown has stood as a proud part of Ohio’s racing tradition and a source of entertainment for our guests and community,” said Chris Volle, General Manager of JACK Thistledown Racino. “The investment that JACK has made at our properties was more than a commitment to growth; it was a promise to the surrounding communities. We’ve honored Thistledown’s legacy while transforming it into a modern entertainment destination that fuels local jobs, attracts tourism, and strengthens the regional economy. This centennial is a tribute to our entire journey, from the legendary horses of the past to the entertainment destination our guests enjoy today. ”

To commemorate 100 years of racing, JACK Thistledown Racino is celebrating all July long with special dining and drink experiences. Guests can enjoy a three-course prix fixe dinner for two at Millcreek Grille for $100, featuring shrimp cocktail or Waldorf salad, Angus Reserve Steak Diane, and pineapple upside-down cake. For a lighter option, a two-course menu paired with a glass of wine instead of dessert. The celebration continues with four handcrafted cocktails inspired by past Ohio Derby winners, the Black Gold, Lemon Twist, Dean Martini, and Western Pride.

Adding to the excitement, guests will have the opportunity to take part in the “Lucky 100” promotion every Saturday in July from 7pm – 9pm with drawings every 30 minutes. Each evening, 25 guests will have a chance to win their share of $250,000 in prizes per week. Plus guests can enjoy a limited-edition t-shirt to mark the occasion on Saturday, July 19th, from noon to 8pm, while supplies last.

JACK Thistledown Racino invites guests and community members alike to be part of this historic celebration. For more information on promotions, dining, and anniversary offerings, visit the JACK Thistledown page.
