JACK ENTERTAINMENT PARTNERS WITH GREATER CLEVELAND FOOD BANK TO SUPPLY COMMUNITY WITH KITCHEN ESSENTIALS

JACK Entertainment has donated pots, pans, utensils, and kitchenware to be distributed through the Food Bank’s new Community Resource Center

December 8, 2023 (CLEVELAND) – JACK Entertainment, Ohio’s Gaming Company, is excited to announce its collaboration with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to provide access to food and promote holistic well-being by donating over 600 kitchen sets, utensils, and kitchenware to the food bank’s new Community Resource Center. JACK’s contribution aims to empower individuals served by the food bank by providing them with the necessary tools to create healthy meals within their own homes.

Drawing on its experience as a key player in the food and beverage industry, offering seven restaurant options across its two Northeast Ohio properties, JACK Entertainment’s donation of kitchen sets, with support from the gaming company’s long-standing vendors, the Gander Group and Power It Up, enhances the Community Resource Center’s efforts to create a comprehensive and inclusive space for the community. The kitchen sets include essential items such as pots, pans, and utensils, ensuring that recipients have the means to prepare nutritious meals at home.

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s Community Resource Center acts as a “one-stop shop” for community members, reducing barriers by offering healthy food, more than a dozen social services agencies, and a variety of resources, including housing, employment, and healthcare access—all conveniently housed under one roof.

“In listening to our community and having long-standing relationships with those eligible for our services, access to cooking utensils will help neighbors replicate healthy and nutritious meals using pots and pans donated by JACK,” said Tiffany Scruggs, Executive Director, and VP Community Access, GCFB Community Resource Center. ”We are grateful for this support and the holidays are a perfect time to launch this support as we encourage healthy home-cooked meals for our neighbors that receive food from our Market and identify a need.”

Recipients of these donated kitchen items include income-eligible individuals, as well as participants in the Nourishing Beginnings program. Nourishing Beginnings specifically aims to increase positive birth outcomes for expecting families living in communities with high infant mortality rates.
“We believe in the power of community partnerships, and our collaboration with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank is a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact in the community we serve,” said Steve Zappacosta, VP of Purchasing and Food and Beverage for JACK Entertainment. “When we were made aware that many of those who are serviced by the food bank don’t have the means to cook a proper meal once they leave the building, we took action with the gracious support of the Gander Group and Power It Up. By contributing kitchen essentials, we hope to not only address immediate food needs but also empower individuals to lead healthier and more self-sufficient lives.”

The partnership between JACK Entertainment, and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank exemplifies the collective effort to create positive change and address the diverse needs of the Greater Cleveland community.
